Are you ready for some football!? The Big Game is this weekend, and I can’t wait! One of my favorite things about football game days is ALL of the party food. I can’t get enough of delicious party appetizers, and these bratwurst and vegetable shish kabob skewersare a tasty twist on a classic family favorite. I usually pair my shish kabob vegetables with slow-marinated chicken, but this time I swapped it out for juicy Johnsonville Brats – packed full of flavor so you can skip the marinating step and be ready for the Big Game in no time!

What You’ll Need for Shish Kabob Skewers:

  • Johnsonville Brats (we used Naturals)
  • Vegetables/Fruits of Your Choice – we used zucchini, onion, red bell pepper, and pineapple.
  • Wooden Skewers, cut in half (the perfect size for appetizers!)
  • Grill – indoor or outdoor

Wash the vegetables and cut them into bite-sized pieces, then cut each Johnsonville brat into 6-8 pieces.

Thread the brats and veggie pieces onto the skewers, and cook on a pre-heated (medium heat) grill for 15-20 minutes, turning frequently until the internal temperature of the sausage reaches 160 degrees. Note: when using an indoor grill pan, cover the skewers with a large lid to trap the heat and ensure thorough cooking.

For game time, I like to serve my shish kabob skewers with a dipping sauce made from a combination of equal parts coconut aminos and our favorite teriyaki sauce. Honestly though, if sauces aren’t your thing, you can totally skip it – they’re crazy good as-is!
