Highlights
- Two and a Half Men featured many guest stars over its 12 seasons, but Jane Lynch's portrayal of Dr. Linda Freeman was considered "pure gold" by fans.
- Lynch's deadpan comedic style and chemistry with Charlie Sheen made her scenes with him hilarious and memorable.
- Despite their issues off-screen, Lynch and Sheen had a good working relationship, and Lynch had nothing but nice things to say about Sheen years after working on the show.
Two and a Half Men had its fair share of guest stars over the years. Some became longer-term recurring characters while others were on the series for one or two episodes. Some of these characters became very memorable to audiences, such as Rose, who stalked both Charlie Harper, played by Charlie Sheen, and later on, Walden Schmidt, played by Ashton Kutcher. Others, such as Enrique Iglesias and Heather Locklear, made less of an impression on viewers, despite their celebrity status.
Given that Two and a Half Men was on for 12 seasons and amassed over 260 episodes, guest stars had to be something special to stand out among the sea of characters that walked in and out of the lives of Charlie and those close to him. To do this, either the actor had to be over the top or the writing had to be spot on. Sometimes, those making an appearance on the show were lucky enough to check the box of both categories.

Was Marin Hinkle’s Relationship With Charlie Sheen On Two And A Half Men Complicated?
It's possible that Marin Hinkle, beloved for playing Judith Harper on Two and a Half Men, had trouble dealing with Charlie Sheen on the sitcom's set.
Other times, a guest star could do deadpan comedy and steal the scene they were in. This was the case for one celebrity that Two and a Half Men fans call "pure gold" as a guest star and made such an impression that fans wished she was on screen for longer than she was.
Charlie's Dynamic With His Therapist Didn't Have Much Air Time, But The Scenes Were Hilarious
When Charlie had to see a therapist, Two and a Half Men executives brought back Jane Lynch from the first season of the show. At that time, Lynch, who played Dr. Linda Freeman, was Charlie's nephew's therapist.
While the dynamic between Jake Harper, played by Angus T. Jones, and Dr. Freeman was sweet, when it came to Dr. Freeman and Charlie, the tough love scenes proved to be comedic gold.
While Lynch was on-screen with Sheen for 12 episodes between Seasons Three and Eight, every time she made an appearance, audiences knew that they would be left in fits of laughter. This is because Lynch's comments to Sheen were deadpan comedy versus physical comedy or one-liners that other characters in the show used to create laughs.
Dr. Freeman and Charlie first appeared in a scene together during Season Three. This is when Charlie needed advice as to handle his brother, Alan's increasing emotional instability.
"Everything I say is confidential, right?" Charlie asks.
Dr. Linda Freeman replies, "Whatever you say, stays in this room."
"Kind of like Vegas?" Charlie asks.
Dr. Linda Freeman says, "Well, except there is no way you're leaving here with more money than when you came in."
"Yeah, like Vegas," Charlie says.
Charlie Sheen and Jane Lynch had more hilarious interactions during season six of Two and a Half Men. This is because both the audience and Sheen had an anticipated response that would come from Lynch. However, her response was not what was expecting.
"You don't need medication, Charlie," Dr. Freeman says. "You're actually making tremendous progress."
"Are you not listening to a thing I say?" Charlie asks.
Dr. Freeman replies, "I drift in and out."
Later in the scene, more laughs ensue as a result of the banter between the two characters.

Fans Are Praising Charlie Sheen's Two And A Half Men Girlfriend Jennifer Taylor For Her Ageless Look In A Recent Cameo
Jennifer Taylor had fans talking during a recent Cameo, discussing her time on Two and a Half Men.
"She knows I love her," Charlie says. "The whole balance of power is completely out of whack."
"Huh," Dr. Freeman says.
"Okay," Charlie says. "I really don't like it when you give me the 'huh'."
Dr. Freeman responds, "Huh."
"Now you're just screwing with me, right?" Charlie asks.
"There's no sliding anything past you," Dr. Freeman replies.
With these examples of how funny Lynch is when in character, it is no wonder that years after these and other scenes first aired, fans cannot wait to see Dr. Freeman on the small screen when watching Two and a Half Men in syndication.
Fans Consider Jane Lynch To Be "Pure Gold" On 'Two And A Half Men'
After the clip from Season Six was posted to YouTube, fans could not help but comment on how much they adored Lynch's performance as Dr. Freeman. Some even went as far as to call her "pure gold" in the role, which is high praise given how few times she appeared on Two and a Half Men compared to other guest stars.
"The scenes with Charlie and Jane were pure gold," one fan expressed.
Another said, "These scenes with Jane Lynch are among the very best in the entire series. These two have great chemistry."
"She was excellent as Charlie's shrink," a third fan wrote. "They gave her some of the best lines and had the best delivery in the whole show."

Unlike Ashton Kutcher, Charlie Sheen Felt Honoured That This Two And A Half Men Guest Star Was Taking His Place On An Episode
Although the moment was meant to be a shot at Sheen, the actor praised the move, while fans also showed love for the scene involving the guest star.
These are just a taste of what hundreds of fans had to say about Lynch's performance on the successful comedy series. Some even went as far as to say that they could not believe that Lynch was not truly a therapist in real life.
All of this is a testament to how well Lynch fit in on the show, despite the limited screen time she had. Not to mention how good of a working relationship she and Sheen had behind the scenes.
Jane Lynch And Charlie Sheen Had A Good Behind-The-Scenes Dynamic
Despite the issues that he was facing in his personal life, Sheen still managed to amass a massive net worth before he left Two and a Half Men. Those issues did not affect the dynamic between himself and Lynch when she was guest-starring on the show either.
In fact, Charlie and Jane got along tremendously well while working together. As such, Lynch had nothing but the nicest things to say about Sheen years after she worked with him on Two and a Half Men.
"He's one of the nicest guys and a true leader on that set," Lynch said about Sheen. "He's going through his stuff now, but there's a really solid, wonderful person in there, and I love him very much."
Lynch would reprise her role of Dr. Freeman two more times after Sheen was fired from the show, a move that Chuck Lorre regretted shortly after. The dynamic, however, was just not the same between herself and Waldon.
That is not to diminish the work that Lynch did but is more of a testament to how well she and Sheen worked together and how their characters' interaction and chemistry became a memorable part of Two and a Half Men history that fans still remember today.
